With the iPod Shuffle you can still create and play playlists. You hold the middle button on the earbud cord down until you hear a tone then when you hear the playlist name you can select it. You can also press the volume controls up or down to go through the list yourself.

The battery on my iPod Nano started to swell a few months back! I was traveling at the time and didn't being it to an apple store as none were around, and it was already long out of warranty. I got the iPod Shuffle to replace it and to use when traveling. It's easy to use, and I can clip it onto my clothing or wheelchair somewhere and it is secure. I like that I can clip it onto my pants pocket or some other hidden place when flying and nap without worrying about if it will "disappear" and if I loose it, it's a lot cheaper than the iPod Touch!

You can replace the battery in his iPod, but make sure it is an apple approved one if it's still under warranty. If you live near an apple store it would be worth dropping in with the iPod and seeing if they can replace it for him. That way the warranty is still ok.

I like apple products because they have VoiceOver (the free screen reading program) built in! Although I'm not too thrilled about having to pay more to get more memory in some things to get it because the lower memory versions don't have VoiceOver. It is a huge leap ahead of most manufacturers though!

I prefer an mp3 player with a screen as well. I like to create playlists and be able to listen to what fits my mood at the time, rather than my whole list.
My son has an ipod nano and he's having trouble keeping the battery charged. Can't you buy a replacement battery like other mp3 players? My Samsung is wonderful and when the battery goes, I can replace the battery rather than having to replace the whole player.

It is amazing too that they do things like that even without learning them sometimes. Anubis refuses to cross the street when a car is approaching. I didn´t train him to do so yet. Such things are really good for the training process

Well I as always thought to be "clumsy" because of my CP, so when I did bump into things, trip etc. it was blamed on that.

As for finding my way around I trailed walls and did other things that I was later "taught" by an Orientation and Mobility instructor. I just did them naturally because it was what I needed to get around. The only extra thing that was added later was the white cane.

Hi there, Can I say thank you for all your videos- they are very helpful.
I'm a C4 incomplete Quad and I was wondering if you would be able to explain the set on your chair? I'm looking to buy a new chair and I would like to the position etc right. Do you know how to adjust your axle for positioning and pushing? How did you decide on the exact seating position? The dump? Backrest height?

Many thanks

Might be a bit of an obvious question but how did you get around from A to B without anyone realising you were blind?

Seeing a guide dog work is amazing. Even the novice dog can show intelligent disobedience; Duke is already doing this, preventing Kim from going under some scaffolding on the sidewalk, even though she didn't yet trust him 100% and kept on trying to make him go forward.

LOL! That's funny... Duke's brother is the strong silent type, but Duke says enough for both of them and then some! Keisha, my other husky is even more talkative than Duke is!
